“AINTU” is the NSTC Joint Research Center for AI Technology and All Vista Healthcare, or the Artificial Intelligence Center at National Taiwan University (AINTU).
Goals and Vision
The five major goals of center include:
Research: Become an international research center via the integration of research projects and cross-disciplinary, cross-unit, and international cooperation.
Platform: Combine government, industry, medical and academic circles to establish a cross-disciplinary AI development platform
Talent: Cultivate AI talents from basic to expert to meet the needs of national institutions and industry
Application: Promote the application of AI research results to social and economic development and contribute to society
International: Develop Taiwan’s AI research capability, establish artificial intelligence resources and influence, and enhance Taiwan’s international influence
The vision of AINTU has the following four parts:
Integrate cross-disciplinary and cross-unit artificial intelligence project teams to develop machine learning and deep learning, data mining and big data analytics, artificial intelligence perception, natural speech and language processing, and other forward-looking technologies, as well as artificial intelligence policy and law.
Lead domestic biotechnology medical teams to enhance the level of domestic biomedical technology, and benefit the health and well-being of the whole country. At the same time, establish an international research group of AI biomedical doctors, allowing Taiwan’s major medical achievements to be marketed globally.
Build ample biomedical databases, as well as infrastructure for solid cross-domain cooperation infrastructure and pipelines for smooth international and industry-university collaboration.
Develop artificial intelligence resources and influence, artificial intelligence industries, artificial intelligence talents, and a solid artificial intelligence industry.
